The textbook provided a strong comprehensive background to the field and paired nicely with the coursework and assignments that focused largely on practical application. I was both inspired and challenged by the readings and assignments--they helped me understand both the subjective and objective rationale behind various design articles I have been reading for years. I also found I was able to quickly apply what I learned directly to design challenges I had been stumped by for some time. By the end of the course I felt I had a sufficient toolkit and the confidence to apply what I learned to various clients' needs.
